Last fall we had two water spouts on the intercoastal waterway here near Parris Island and one on the large pond known as "3rd Battalion Pond" here on the Island. There was quite an uproar cause they came out of a clear, still day that suddenly clouded up, the atmosphere had this very odd greenish tinge to it, the water spouts popped up and then it started raining LIKE CRAZY! We have this awesome Emergency Operations Center with screens all over the room where you can watch what's going on from various cameras all over the base (and a couple out in town as well). It was a trip to watch those water spouts...I felt the same way these ladies seemed to. Like I was witnessing something amazing and special.
